The Body Shop Eau De Toilette - Brazil Nut

It's not a big surprise that I am a huge fan of The Body Shop, so me writing a post reviewing one of their products is no big shock to any of you.

Shortly after Easter I popped into The Body Shop and came out with a bunch of products from the sale section and one of them was the brazil nut eau de toilette. I have loved the brazil nut fragrance ever since I bought it in the body scrub at Christmas. I think that you can only buy this in the sale or online which works out better as it is always reduced from £8.50 to £4.50 and for 30ml, you can't complain!

The scent is very nutty without being too over powering and is more of a autumnal scent rather than a summery scent, but I love it regardless.

Have you tried this scent?

Top 10 Under £10

I haven't seen a lot of these posts on the blogosphere i a while so I thought I would one together for you. There are a range of things from make up products, to body sprays and more that I want to share and my opinion on.

First is the Rimmel Match Perfection Foudation. The formulation of this foundation is perfect as it not too heavy, yet gives a good coverage, and makes the skin look healthy with a glow. It is amazing for it's price of £6.99.

Next is a primer which, in my opinion, is just fabulous for the price of £5.99. I won't go into a lot of detail as I have already done a blog post on it, which you can read here
Another product that has made it into the Top 10 is the Sleek Lip Colour in Barely There. Yet again, I have already done a post on which you can read here. Other products that are in the Top 10 that you can read about on my blog are the Natural Collection Eye Shadow, the Maybelline Colour Tattoo and the Collection Fat Lash Mascara.

On to a fragrance, the whole range of The Body Shop body sprays and eau de toilettes are amazing. They smell unchemically and very natural. The Body Shop also have a wide variety of different scents from fruity to floral to nutty and only cost between £7.50 and £8.50.

Finally, the last product is the Clearasil Ultra Blemish + Marks Treatment Cream. It has really helped clear my acne and prevent further inflamation and only cost £6.79.

What would be in your top 10?

What to do when boredom strikes?

Now that my exams are starting to come to an end I have started to become progressively more bored and since most of you are in the same boat as me, I thought I would write a post on what to do, even if you don't have exams.

  1. Create a blog post bank - build up a collection of blog posts in your drafts ready for the writing block moments
  2. Have a film day - there is nothing like blasting out a film series or all your favourite films in one day. Just cuddle up in bed or on the sofa with a hot drink and snacks and you are sorted
  3. Clean your bedroom or house - might as well be productive than bored
  4. Go out with friends/family - spend some quality time with some friends or family by doing something you all enjoy
  5. Workout - just blast out your favourite songs and workout whether that is at home using a youtube video or in the gym
  6. Sketch/draw something - just grab a piece of paper and a pencil and draw away!
  7. Do some DIY - create a collage or wall art, there are plenty of blog posts and pinterest boards with inspiration
  8. Organise your wardrobe/closet - de-clutter and throw away unwanted items.
  9. Play around with your make up - create a new look out of your favourite make up, you never know you might find a look you like.
  10. Read a book - it doesn't have to be a thick one, any book will do
  11. Take photos ready for up coming blog posts - better be prepared then stressed when you don't have good lighting
  12. Edit blog photos - use your time productively by editing the photos you have previously took for upcoming posts
  13. Go for a walk - clear your mind and let inspiration flow
  14. Binge watch your favourite TV series - whether it is pre recorded or on netflix, just grab some snacks and enjoy
  15. Bake something - pull out the dusty old recipe book and bake a cake or some cookies

What do you do when you are bored?

Collection Fat Lash Mascara

I have been using this mascara for at least two years and have never thought to write about it on here. So that is what I am going to do.

This mascara brilliant! It curls and lengthens your lashes with one coat. Also, all three shades intensifies your lashes to make you look more awake. Also, the packaging is bright pink which is good for if you have lost in the bottom of your bag. It is also long lasting so you won't look like a panda after four hours of wear.

Sadly, there isn't a waterproof version of this, so you won't be able to wear when swimming.

What is your favourite mascara?

Why I Started Blogging...

I have not seen a lot of these posts around on the blogosphere, so I thought I would write one. Also, I thought I should tell you the reasons why I created my blog.

Firstly, I wanted to be more creative. I would consider myself a creative person, but not as much as others. So I thought by creating a blog on my own and write whatever I want, I could be more creative. I also wanted to express my thoughts and feelings in a creative way about things I am loving or hating. I also wanted to create a portfolio of writing to show employers and colleges. I don't know whether you know but, I want to be a writer/journalist, so by creating a blog I am kind of getting my foot in the door to the world of media. Not only that, but I wanted to improve my media skills like photography and writing. I wasn't happy with how my coursework was in school so I thought that by creating a blog, my skills will improve, and they have.

More importantly, I wanted to talk to new people. By creating my blog it gave me the chance to talk to people who have the same interests as me and who write the same sort of posts as I do. I also wanted to gain confidence in myself and my skills. As I ave said in previous posts I am not the most confident person in the world, so by starting a blog I thought that it would help me become more confident and feel happy with what I was doing.

Additionally, I needed a new hobby to do at weekends and after school instead of doing nothing. Now I spend most of my time writing posts or flicking through both Bloglovin' and Pinterest trying to come up with new blog post ideas. Blogging has also created a new hobby for me as I have started following fitness blogs which has motivated and inspired me to start working out.

Why did you start a blog?

Natural Collection Eye Shadow in Milk Chocolate

I haven't done a review of a product for a while so I thought I would review one of my favourite eye shadows for you. It is the Natural Collection mono eye shadow in the shade Milk Chocolate, a beautiful warm toned mid brown. To say that the price of them is £1.99, the quality is amazing. The texture of them is so smooth and silky, not chalky as I would expect from a cheap brand. Also, the colour range is amazing from whacky colours to stunning neutrals.

Have you tried the Natural Collection mono eye shadows?

Loving the Novelty Jumpers

At the start of this year I found what I like to call, the most amazing jumper/sweatshirt! It was mint green with a black dinosaur print on it, so I just had to buy it, especially since it was only £6. Afterwards, I practically lived in it and thought, why not get another? So I did, but this time I bought a black one with a cactus print on it. So I had a little collection going on.

Then for ages I never say any new prints or what prints they had, I didn't like. However, the other day I clapped eyes on an amazing sweatshirt for this time of year, a coral one with a black pineapple print.

All three sweatshirts are from H&M in the DIVIDED section for only £5.99! Although I love all three of them, I think they are too garish to wear out in public so I only wear then in the house as pajama tops as they are so cosy and comfy.

Do you have any novelty jumpers?

May Day

The other day, whilst buying a new The Comforter in Lush, I came across the May Day bath bomb. It is only in stores for the month of May to raise money for three organisations. Every penny raised goes to three organisations: Animal Aid, The League Against Cruel Sports and Save Me as part of the Votes for Animals Campaigns. Since it was only £2.95, I decided to buy one and also because it smells like sherbet and looks like a badger!

Candle Corner #8 - Wickford & Co Vanilla Cupcake

Welcome to another Candle Corner!
I want to talk about the Wickford & Co Vanilla Cupcake candle, which is the second Wickford & Co candle I bought when I went to Home Bargains. Whenever I smell this candle it reminds me of the little pots of cake decorations you would use when you were little. Although it doesn't have as strong of a smell as the Strawberry Dream one, it was only 49p so I wasn't expecting it to be the best thing ever. Can't wait to burn this one!

Cheap Spot Treatments That Work!

Newsflash! I struggle with spots, as do everyone, unless you are an alien from outer space. So I thought this post would be helpful to most people as it is my top 5 favourite cheap spot treatments that actually work. Also, since they are cheap, it won't break the bank.

One of my favourite treatments are the Clearisil Rapid Action Pads - £5.35. They are circular cotton pads that are soaked in spot fighting chemicals to help diminish excess oils and dirt that could cause spots.

Sticking with Clearisil, my next favourite is the Clearisil Blemish & Marks Cream - £6.79. I have acne on my face and shoulders which leaves horrible scars. So I wanted a treatment that can help prevent the acne but also reduce the scaring because I don't want visible scars for my Prom. This cream is perfect for this as already, after three uses, I have noticed a difference in my skin and scars.

Next is the Acnecide treatment which is the priciest of them all at between £10 - £15, however I get mine on prescription. As I have said previously, I struggle with acne and this cream really helps clear it up.

If you are a regular reader of my blog then you will know how much I love this next treatment. It is the Body Shop Tea Tree Face Wash - £5. I only use this on an odd occasion, but when I do it really helps soothe my acne and spots. It also prevents any new spots coming through as it clears away any dirt or excess oils.

The last product is the T-Zone Spot Zapping Gel - between £0.99 - £2. This is a great little gel that stops spot growth and helps get rid of the spot in one quick application. I love how small it is as you can carry it around with you and apply it on the go.

Model Sizes and Plus Size Controversy

A few weeks a go, as part of my Y11 English coursework, I was asked to write a speech. I had three topics to choose from; body image, loss of innocence or sports, so I decided on body image. It was the one topic I thought I could talk about passionately and enjoy writing about. Since, I got a good grade for it, I thought I would take my speech and write it as a blog post for all of you to read.

Firstly, I think it is wrong for models to be published with extreme photoshopping. It creates a false image to women saying that in order to be a successful model on the front cover of a magazine or on a catwalk, you have to have a tiny waist, no spots and a stick thin figure. Every magazine a see there are no plus size or slightly curvy women on the front cover and I think this is because the media doesn't want to accept that it is okay to be bigger than a size 6/8.

I don't see what is wrong with being curvy! If someone is happy the size they are, then why try and change them, judge them and knock their confidence? So what is someone is a size 16! It's non of anyone else's business what size or shape someone is and the media shouldn't promote the "perfect" models being a size 8 with lumps and bumps, when in actual fact, they aren't. They are just like everyone, just an average looking person.

Another thing I wanted to include in this post is about plus size women. There has been a lot of controversy with this topic over the past week as Jamelia Niela Davis spoke to the Loose Women ladies about how "high street shops shouldn't sell items of clothing above a size 18." She admits that she is all for celebrating the way people are, yet she says that plus size women should have to shop in specialist shops. In my opinion, I think she is being quite hypocritical as she is saying how being bigger is fine but they would have to shop in a different place to other "regular" women.

I don't see why people feel the need to comment on something that has nothing to do with them. If someone is a size 6 and healthy then great! But the same goes for a size 18 who is healthy. It is possible to be a bigger size and be healthy, you just have a curvier figure. As long as you do regular exercise and not be lazy, then you can still be healthy and "big." Take model Katie Green, for example. Although she isn't big, she is a size 12 and curvy and size 12 is said to be the average size of a woman, but she lost a contract with Wonderbra because she refused to lose weight!

Overall, I think that curvy and bigger women shouldn't be penalised for being happy the way they are.

What is your opinion on the topic?
